Produced from the oldest estate vinyeards of Bodegas Arrocal, Arrocal Reserva de Familia is a varietal Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) wine from DO Ribera del Duero.
Situated in the Gumiel de Mercado, Burgos, the over 70-year-old vines are planted in clay-limestone soils and farmed following minimal intervention and environmentally friendly techniques. The area has a continental climate with an atlantic influence.
The grapes were hand-harvested and carefully selected. Then this Spanish red wine was fermented in stainless tanks for 15 days under controlled temperature.
After that, this red wine from Ribera del Duero was aged for 24 months in French oak barrels before being bottled.
Finally, Arrocal Reserva de Familia 2019 was aged for 12 months minimum in the bottle before hitting the market.

Oak remains in the background, supporting the wine instead of suffocating it. Very pleasant mouthfeel, with hints of dry earth, withered leaves, tar and smoke, ending with a spicy note. |
