A varietal Tempranillo, Allende is made by the prestigious winemaker Miguel Ángel de Gregorio from a selection of grapes coming from the 148 plots of vines, 45 years old on average, owned by the Finca Allende winery and located near the town of Briones.
Once in the cellar, the grapes were selected and destemmed. Without being crushed, they were put into stainless steel tanks, macerated at a low temperature for a week and fermented for over a period of 10 days with daily pump-overs. After a second maceration period in contact with their skins, this Spanish red wine completed malolactic fermentation in those same steel tanks.
Afterwards, Allende 2014 from La Rioja was transferred into French oak barrels, where it was aged for 14 months, with rackings being performed every 4 months. This wine from La Rioja Alta was neither filtered nor clarified before its bottling.
We suggest that you aerate this Crianza red wine 20 minutes before you drink it.
