Crafted by the Castillo Perelada winery, this Spanish red wine is born in one the most magical spots of L’Empordà. (The place, incidentally, is a stone throw away from the legendary El Bulli restaurant.)
There are 4 features that make Aires de Garbet an outstanding wine: the vicinity of the sea, the mighty northern wind called Tramuntana – a natural sanitizing agent – the deeply mineral slate soils, and the ever-present sunlight.
A varietal Grenache, this reserva red wine comes from vineyards planted in 1997 in Finca Garbet, a scenic vineyard directly facing the Mediterranean sea.
The grapes were manually harvested, fermented using indigenous yeasts and macerated for over a period of 19 days.
Then Aires de Garbet 2018 was aged for 14 months in 2nd year French oak barrels in order to preserve its varietal character. Finally, it was aged for a further months in the bottle before its release.
Decant this red wine from L’Empordà a minimum of 2 hours before drinking.
12,376 bottles produced.
