Produced by the prestigious winemaker Mariano García, Aalto PS is made from a selection of the best Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) grapes coming from 80 to 100 year-old vineyards located in the province of Burgos.
Hand-harvested and transported to the winery in very small boxes during hours of low light to prevent pre-fermentation, the grapes were put through another selection process at the winery before being destemmed. The grape musts from each vineyard were separately vinified prior to making the final blend.
The fermentation of this Spanish red wine from Aalto Bodegas y Viñedos was carried out at a controlled temperature. Then Aalto PS 2020 was drawn off and transferred into new French oak barrels, where it completed malolactic fermentation and was aged for a period of 21 months.
We emphatically suggest that you decant this Reserva red wine from Ribera del Duero a minimum of 2 hours before you drink it.
The winery recommends to consume the wine at least one year after its bottling. From the third year on, it will begin to develop the sort of complexity that has put this red wine from Ribera del Duero in the growing list of world-class red wines produced in Spain.
